SALE AT ADDINGTON VERY LITTLE CHANGE. INCREASE IN WETHER PRICES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, June 17. At Addington market values were little changed except for fat wethers, which were 2s a head dearer. In the store sheep best ewe lambs made 26s 6d, medium to good wether lambs 17s to 19s 8d for best, lower grades 15s 3d to 16s Bd. The majority of the ewes offered were low in condition, the best price being 18s 3d for four and five-year-olds, other lines from 15s 3d to 17s, and low-grade sheep 5s 6d to 9s lid. The highest price for wethers was 23s 7d for two-tooths, others from 18s to 19s 6d. The fat sheep entry included some outstanding wethers, extra heavy four-tooths realising 43s 4d and others from 41s lOd to 42s 4d. The ewes were of mixed quality and the sale was somewhat erratic, but last week’s prices were maintained. Butchers secured most heavy lines and freezing buyers’ operations were confined to lighter sorts. The fat cattle included many prime wellbred bullocks. The market opened erratically and continued so for most of the sale. There was no change for special b.eef, but values for anything else were down from 10s to 15s a head. Top price was £2O 17s 6d. Best beef averaged 39s to 42s Gd a 1001 b., good 37s to 38s 6d, ordinary 33s 6d to 36s 6d, inferior cow beef to 275. There was a heavy yarding in the porker section and values eased 3s to 5s a head. The bacon entry was the smallest for some time, including a heavy proportion of overweight and overfat sorts. Best quality baconers met a very keen demand, but overweights were exceptionally hard to quit. The average price for porkers was 6%d to 7%d, and for baconers fi'/ad to Bd. MASTERTON SALE FAT SHEEP MAINTAIN LATE RATES. The Associated Auctioneers report as follows on their Masterton sale held yesterday. Some 850 sheen were yarded, and a few cattle, to a fair attendance of buyers. The entry of fat sheep was larger than usual for such an entry. Fat wethers and fat ewes maintained late rates. The following will indicate values: Fat sheen: Prime wethers 30s Gd. 30s, 27s 3d to 26s 7d, Down ewes 19s 6d, 22s to 245, nrimc fat ewes 18s 2d, l f 7s lOd, 17s 9d, lighter sorts 16s Id, 15s Id. unfinished 13s to 12s, fat b.f. lambs 18s 9d, others 16s 9d to 225. Store sheep: 4th ewes r.w. SDn ram 275, 4 and 6th ewes r.w. SDn rams 255, 4yr ewes r.w. SDn ram 22s sd, 4 and syr ewes r.w. SDn ram 18s 7d, store ewes 13s Id to 10s ad to Bs. b.f. lambs 14s, w.f. wly lambs 19s lOd, 15s, shorn w.f. lambs 21s. wly ewe lambs 20s, ‘4tb and 6th wethers 24s 4d. Cattle: 18mths P.A. steers £4 2s.
