RECOGNITION IN SOUTH AFRICA. MOST IMPORTANT LABOUR DEVELOPMENT. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) (Received, This Day, 12.20 p.m.) JOHANNESBURG, June 17. The Minister of Labour, Mr Madeley, announced that the Government had agreed to recognise native trade unions. Natives make up eighty to ninety per cent of South Africa’s unskilled labour. The Government's decision is regarded as one of the most important labour developments in South Africa’s history.
