WAIRARAPA BOARD MEETING AT CARTERTON TODAY. STREET LIGHTING CHARGES REDUCED. The monthly meeting of the Wairarapa Electric Power Board is being held at Carterton today, Mr Campbell Pearce presiding. The question of a reduction in charges for street lighting in the Masterton and Carterton boroughs was considered, and it was decided to make a reduction in respect to mercury vapour lamns, and that the boroughs receive a refund of £6 17s per lamp to be retrospective as from April 1. This new scale is to apply for the duration of the black out in the boroughs named. The reticulation of certain military camps was discussed and it was resolved that authority be given to carry out. the necessary work.
