Robertson, was requested to investigate the position in regard to the use of Whatman Home and report to the next meeting. It was stated that the building was expected to be completed in about six weeks time. The board considered that the recent five per cent increase in old age benefits should be made payable proportionately between the board and the inmates of Buchanan Home. The increase of 6s 6d was made payable wholly to the old people. It was pointed out that the board had to bear the increase in costs.
