POWER FAILURE

TROUBLE AT SUB-STATION. An 11,000 volt insulator at the Masterton sub-station blew up at about 12.30 o’clock this afternoon and as a result power was off for about half-an-hour while a new one was fitted. Power was restored shortly, before 1 o’clock.

There were two minor interruptions to the power supply at about 10 a.m.
