TEA AT Y.M.C.A.
SOLDIERS ENTERTAINED. Soldiers were entertained at the Y.M.C.A. last night at tea by the ladies’ section of the Labour Party. The evening proved most enjoyable and popular. Mr E. M. Hodder president of the Y.M.C.A. Board of Directors, presided and extended a welcome to the men. Mrs J. Robertson, on behalf of the ladies of the Labour Party, also extended a welcome to the men and said they were pleased at any time to give the men a few home comforts such as those provided at the tea. Padre Shiels conducted the devotional service. Sergeant Andrew, on behalf of the men present, expressed their thanks for the tea. Items were contributed by Misses Youngquest and Tewhera, vocal duet, and by Miss Tewhera, vocal solo, the accompaniments being played by Miss M. Iveson. After the tea, community singing was enjoyed in the lounge. Among those present was Mr J. Robertson, M.P.
