Further it is claimed that the Japanese have captured 342,000 prisoners, including 25,000 Americans, 64,000'Britons, 24,000 Dutch and 44,000 Chinese and have also destroyed 1636 and captured 240 plan,es. The admitted Japanese losses are 9,174 killed and 20,720 wounded; also 348 planes lost, while 31 ships, totalling 160,000 tons, have been sunk.
