FIGURES FOR MAY. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that rain was measured on 19 days in May. The maximum fall was 2.24 inches on the 9th, and the minimum 1 point on the 18th. The total for tjie month was 7.81 inches as against 5.01 (1941), 4.38 (1940), 1.66 (1939), 1.22 (1938), and 3.61 (1937). The average for 39 years is 4.57 inches. This is the fourth wettest May in 39 years, the others being as follows: 9.62 on 27 days, 1907; 8.52, 18 days, 1913; 9.23, 19 days, 1923; 7.81, 19 days, 1942.. The total r^ip T fall for five months is 20.61 inches, as compared with 19,03 inches (1941), 14.16 (1940), 7.56 (1939), 22.31 (1938) and 13.48 (1937). The average for 39 years is 15.56 inclies.
