BOMBING IN BURMA
DESTRUCTION OF JAPANESE RIVER TRANSPORT. AERODROME PETROL DUMP SET ON FIRE. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 11.0 a.m.) RUGBY, June 2. A New Delhi communique states: “R.A.F. Blenheims bombed Magwe Aerodrome yesterday. Several sticks of bombs were dropped and -petrol dump was set on fire. Hudson aircraft bombed and machine-gunned targets over a wide area on the Chindwin River. Several barges and steamers were destroyed or damaged.”
