APPROACHING XI 4,000,000 MARK CLOSING DATE EXTENDED. AT REQUEST OF INTENDING SUBSCRIBERS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Reserve Bank announced yesterday that the Prime Minister had agreed to extend for one day the time allowed for the receipt of Liberty Loan applications. Th£ loan will therefore close tomorrow, instead of today. The extension, it is stated, has been agreed to on account of the many representations made by intending subscribers, and all banks, post offices and sharebrokers have been advised. Yesterday being a holiday prevented institutions and private people from arranging for the lodgment of theii’ applications and it is expected that today and tomorrow will be record days for subscriptions, as promises already re- - ceived by the Reserve Bank run into many thousands. Subscribers are advised that if they cannot arrange for the lodgment of applications before the close of business tomorrow, their applications will be accepted if they are posted to the Reserve Bank under postmark of that date. Last night the Reserve Bank reported that subscriptions totalled £13,616.170, leaving approximately £l,400,000 still to be subscribed. Large amounts recently received or promised include: New Zealand Labour Party, £10,000; Colonial Sugar Refining Co., £50,000; Port Line, Ltd., £40,000; Shaw, Savill, £50,000; N.Z. Shipping Co., £50,000.
