ARCTIC AIRFIELDS
AID TO DISTRIBUTION OF PLANES FROM AMERICAN FACTORIES. FLIGHT OF FIGHTERS TO BRITAIN. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.20 p.rri.) NEW YORK, May 29. New airfields built recently in Labrador, Greenland and Iceland will considerably help the distribution of American aircraft among the Allies , this summer, says the “New York Times military correspondent, Mr Hanson Baldwin. These airfields will permit the flying of short range fighters to Britain, - and fighters with a longer range, like the Bell Airacobra, When equipped with a detachable auxiliary tank, will now be able to fly from AmeHcan factories to Britain.
