NATIONAL UNITY
DISCUSSED BY PARTY ' LEADERS. WAR CABINET PROPOSALS & OTHER MATTERS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Discussions on the recent proposals of the New Zealand Returned Services’ Association for an enlarged War Cabinet with the inclusion of a number of Ministers selected from outside Parliament took place yesterday between the Prime Minister, Mr Fraser, and the Leader of the Opposition, Mr Holland. Various other matters in the direction of national unity were also discussed. An invitation to meet him and discuss these proposals was extended to Mr Holland by the Prime Minister, following the public representations of the association a fortnight ago. The meeting between the party leaders lasted about an hour and a half, and the discussions are to be continued next week. A meeting of the executive of the National Patty was held in Wellington yesterday, but this had been called before the developments which led to the discussions between Mr Holland and Mr Fraser.
