Large applications reported include: Wellington City Council, £100,000; Vacuum Oil Co., £12,000; Williams and Kettle, £10,000; Wright, Stephenson, a further £5000; Hancock and Co., Ltd., £10,000; Wellington Woollen Manufacturing Co., a further £5000; Sargood Son and Ewen, £35,000; J. C. Williamson Picture Corp., Ltd., £5000; Thomson, Lewis and Co., £10,000; Colonial Mutual Life Assurance Society, £50,000. HARBOUR BOARD CONTRIBUTION. GOVERNMENT MUST HAVE MONEY. (By Telegraph-Press Association.) AUCKLAND, May 28. The Auckland Harbour Board, at a special meeting today, decided to contribute another £50,000 to the Liberty Loan, making £75,000. The chairman said that the people must not be found wavering at this juncture; all must realise it was essential for the Government to have the money if the war was to be won.
