OBITUARY
MRS MARY EXELL. The death occurred yesterday of a well known and highly respected resident of Masterton in the person of Mrs Mary Exell, of Makora Road. The late Mrs Exell was born at Leamington, Warwickshire, England, in 1860, and came to New Zealand in the sailing ship Eastminster in 1880, in which year she was married in St Luke’s Church, Greytown, to Mr Edwin Exell, who arrived in New Zealand in 1879. Mrs Exell had lived practically ever since in Masterton. Her husband predeceased her in 1923. She is survived by a family of three daughters, Mrs E. T. Price, Totara Street, Lansdowne; Mrs E. Williams, Palmerston North, and Miss J. Exell, Masterton, who will have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends in. their bereavement. There are also eight grandchildren. The funeral will leave St Matthew’s Church tomorrow, following a service at 2 p.m. for the Masterton Cemetery.
