LIBERTY LOAN
RATE OF APPLICATIONS NOW MORE SATISFACTORY. RECEIPTS OVER £9,000,000. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Tiie Reserve Bank reports that the rate of applications for the Liberty Loan has been more satisfactory during the past few days. Receipts up to last night totalled £9,388,460, made up of 2| per cent stock, 1947, 3288 applications for £3,243,130, and 3 per cent 1952-55 stock, 4202 applications for £6,145,330. Large applications include the Wellington Harbour Board £30,000, New Zealand Farmers Co-op. Association, £10,000; New Zealand Holdings, Ltd., £10,000; Sharland and Co., £lO,000; Levin and Co., Ltd., a further £10,000; Invercargill Savings Bank a further £20,000; and National Mutual Life Association an additional £lOO,000- • x-x The Wellington Trades Council at its meeting on Tuesday night decided to invest £250 in the loan.
