CROQUET

MASTERTON CLUB ANNUAL MEETING. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The annual meeting of the Masterton Croquet Club was held in the Y.M.C.A. yesterday, Mrs McGregor (acting-president) presiding over a good attendance of members. The secretary’s report and balance sheet showed the club to be sound financially and to have an increased membership. The lawns had been kept in excellent order thanks to the Park Custodian, Mr Knowles. Mrs McGregor was elected president and Mrs Weller vice-president. The Secretary, Mrs Polson, was reelected. Mrs Bassett was elected unopposed as captain. To the general committee the names of Mesdames Hayden, Scrivener and W. Thompson were added, and Mrs McGregoi* was elected club delegate. Mr G. Scrivener was again elected auditor. It was reported that during last Winter bridge parties had been held in aid of the Patriotic, Red Cross and other funds.

A vote of thanks was accorded to Mrs Munn and Mrs Henderson for having acted as scrutineers.
