STATE THEATRE
“PLAYMATES.” There will be an exceptionally good bill of fare at the State Theatre tonight when “Playmates” and “Obliging Young Lady,” will be presented. Each picture deals in a most attractive manner with very interesting subjects which should appeal to the audience because of the brilliance of the acting. The situations are sure to be appreciated for the cleverness of their presentation. Each in its separate sphere provides fare of the kind appreciated by particular patrons of pictures. In “Playmates” the leading roles are taken by John Barrymore, May Robson, Patsy Kelly and Lupe Velez, while excellent music is provided by Kay Kyser and his band. It is a fun-packed show which should not be missed by those who appreciate a bright modern story overflowing with catchy tunes. In “Obliging ■ Young Lady,” Joan Carroll and Edmond O’Brien have the leading roles in what is one of the finest comedy dramas ever brought to the screen.
