A 25-year-old American soldier will be charged before a court-martial with having murdered three women in Melbourne this month. The United States Army Command has appointed 11 officers to constitute the court-martial. In addition, a judge advocate, who will prosecute, and defence and assistantdefence counsel, have been appointed. The fact that the prisoner will be arraigned on all three charges was not officially announced till yesterday. A preliminary hearing, at which the soldier will be formally charged, will probably be held this week. The evidence-in-chief of detectives and civilians is ~not expected to begin till next week.
