LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST FURTHER SHOWERS. IMPROVEMENT TOMORROW. The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— DISTRICT FORECAST: Fresh to strong southerly winds, moderating tomorrow, some further showers, but weather mainly fair tomorrow, temperatures cold with sharp frosts in sheltered positions. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Fair though cool. LOCAL REPORT. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 36 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today. Mr N. W. Towns reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 8 a.m. today:— Barograph, 29.92; shade temperature, maximum 43.7, minimum 40; terrestrial, 38; rain, 62 points. PHASES OF THE MOON. Full moon, May 30. Draw blinds at 5.35 p.m. today; raise them at 7.2 a.m. tomorrow.
