BRITISH AND AMERICAN PROPOSALS.
(By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This. Day, 12.40 p.m.) x WASHINGTON, May 24.
Sir Walter Citrine told President Roosevelt that the American Federation of Labour had agreed to a form of collaboration with British and Russian unions for the duration of the war. Sir W. Citrine, had proposed that American organised labour should participate in a British, American and Soviet trades union committee. The American Federation of Labour’ Council made counter-proposals which had been cabled to London. Sir W. Citrine told the Press that the counter-pro-posals'did not go as far as he would like, but they were definitely in favour of a form of collaboration and undoubtedly were a step in the right direction.
