ALLIES ATTACKING

IN SOUTHWEST PACIFIC

FEWER JAPANESE RAIDS. 55 ENEMY PLANES DESTROYED LAST WEEK. LONDON, May 24. In the South-Western Pacific the Allies' continue to do most of the attacking. Japanese air raids are steadily decreasing in volume and numbers. Allied planes are taking heavy toll of Japanese aircraft on the ground. During the past week, 55 Japanese planes have been either destroyed or damaged north of Australia.

Allied planes are continuing their attacks on enemy bases, the latest being on Lae and Amboina.
