TELLING BLOWS

STRUCK AGAINST ENEMY IN CHANNEL BRITISH NAVAL AND AIR ATTACKS. SEVERAL GERMAN LIGHT CRAFT DESTROYED. LONDON, May 15. British light naval forces have been giving little respite to enemy patrols and shipping off the French coast. Last night two German armed trawlers were left disabled and sinking. On Wednesday a patrol of our light forces attacked a German convoy off the French coast. One enemy vessel was hit by torpedo. The Germans have already admitted the loss of a torpedo boat in this engagement. Other damage and casualties were undoubtedly inflicted. We lost one light coastal craft. Hurricane bombers of the Fighter Command sank one enemy minesweeper which was hit amidships and blew up, set another well on fire and hit and damaged a third when they made a sweep across the Channel, accompanied by Spitfires, to the Cherbourg Peninsula. The planes took by surprise three of the latest type of enemy minesweepers, which were attacked at mast height. None of our aircraft were lost. An enemy bomber was destroyed by fighters off the east coast of England early this morning. Yesterday a Hudson bomber attacked an enemy vessel off the Norwegian coast. It is believed that several direct hits were made.
