REPORTED BY RUSSIANS. GUERILLAS TAKE HEAVY TOLL OF ENEMY. (Received This Day, 9.40 a.m.) RUGBY, May 12. A Moscow communique states: “During a battle for a point on the southern front, tank units killed over 200 Germans and destroyed quantities of equipment. “The Russians on the Kalinin front repulsed two German counter-attacks and killed 100 of the enemy. “Ukrainian guerillas have achieved important successes and inflicted heavy losses on the 32nd and 46th Hungarian infantry regiments, which the Germans sent out against the guerilla movement. The guerillas also wiped out a big punitive expedition, liberated several populated places and captured prisoners and booty.” SPECIAL RESPIRATORS USED BY GERMANS IN CRIMEA. PROTECTION AGAINST MINE EXPLOSIVES. (Received This Day, 12.5 a.m.) VICHY, May 12. A message from Bucharest states that the German troops in the Crimea arc equipped with a special respirator for protection against new German mine explosives, which decrease pressure and neutralise oxygen ovei’ a radius of 300 yards. GERMAN REPORT KERCH PENINSULA ATTACK. (Received This Day, 10.5 a.m.) LONDON, May 12. The German News Agency stated that German and Rumanian troops, supported by strong Luftwaffe forces, launched an attack in the Kerch Peninsula on May 6. The battle is in full swing.
