LITTLE PROGRESS MADE BY GERMANS In Attacks During Several Days TANKS IN ACTION ON DONETZ FRONT ENEMY SAID TO BE LAUNCHING OFFENSIVE : LONDON, May 12. After three days’ fighting, the enemy has been thrust back in the Kerch Peninsula (in the Crimea) to the positions from which he started, except in one sector in the north, where a little progress was made. The Germans have suffered heavy CHSUH/ltiCS* According to Berlin, the battle has been in full swing since Friday. The German and Rumanian troops engaged in it are stated to be using new and improved weapons. A Soviet comunique reports a successful tank attack on the southern front. Another message says that over the greater part of the Eastern front troop movements are still hampered by the weather.
