“John Buil’s” Office.

Although “John Bull’s” campaign closes officially tomorrow the office will remain open for a few days for the receipt of outstanding and latecomers’ donations. First Aid Course.

Enrolments for the first aid course in connection with the Nursing Division of St. John Ambulance Brigade will be made in the Lecture Room at the Municipal Buildings at 7.30 o’clock tonight.

Optimist Club Gathering. There was a particularly good attendance of members and visitors at last night’s meeting of the Masterton Optimist Club held in the Y.M.C.A. rooms. Several members of the Royal New Zealand Air Force who belonged to Optimist Clubs in other towns were present. An instructive'address on the case for and against the opening of a second front in Europe against Nazi Germany was given by Mr A. E.Hely. Two Accident Cases.

Two accident cases were admitted to the Masterton Hospital yesterday afternoon. Barry Thornton, of 59 Oxford Street, nearly 3 years of age, suffered an injury to his left ankle when his foot became caught in a bicycle wheel. Lawrence Collerton, aged 15, a Wairarapa College boarder, who comes from Tinui, suffered a leg injury while playing football. The condition of both was reported this morning to be satisfactory.
