“CRAZY SHOW”
A WILLIAMSON PRODUCTION.
Tomorrow night at the Opera House, commencing at 8 o’clock the Great Levante, by arrangement with J. C. Williamson Theatres, Ltd., will present the London Palladium success “Crazy Show,” which proved the most popular production staged in Auckland and Wellington and Christchurch for several years, its chief features being the splendid work of a brilliant team of comedians, the snappy and up-to-date .sketches, the magic and mind-reading features of the Great Levante, the lovely ballets and also the appearance in person of George Tollerton, the brilliant ventriloquist in his presentation of “Chuckles with Jerry.” The Great Levante’s features include “Talks with Chalk,” “Thought Transference” and his latest magic tricks, none of which have previously been seen in New Zealand. A splendid turn is said to be “Gypsy Scena” with Gladys Cole on the accordion, Elvy Ferguson (violin), Esme Levante (violin), and Gordon Girdwood (guitar). The six comedians, Ed. Edwards, Robert Butt, Joe Valli, Lawrie Long, George Corelli and Ronald Shand, have unlimited opportunities in “Crazy Show,” of which they take the fullest advantage. The English comedienne, Miss Doris Whimp, is seen at her best in her inimitable feature entitled “Her Man,” and Lawrie Long, the young man from Hong Kong, always creates a furore of enthusiasm with his tap dancing. The box plans are at the shop of Messrs Steele and Bull.
