PIRINOA
PATRIOTIC DANCE A LARGE ATTENDANCE. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a large attendance at the patriotic dance on Saturday evening. Visitors were present from all parts of the Wairarapa. The prizes were won by Miss Betty Te Whaiti (ham) and Messrs Collins and Te Whaiti (chocolates.) . The euchre prizes were won by Mesdames Spicer and Riwai (ladies), and Messrs J. Mundy and Priest (men). Mr S. Mclntosh was M.C., while the music was supplied by a local band. Personal Items. Miss Ngaire Joyce, Lower Hutt, was a recent visitor to the district. Midshipman McKinley, Auckland, is visiting relatives here. Mr C. Wild, R.N.Z.A.F., Ohakea, is a visitor to the district. Misses J. Westbury and P. Henderson, have returned to Martinborough. Miss Bessie Carter, Napier, is visiting Masterton to sec her brother, Captain Carter, who is seriously ill in the Masterton Hospital. Mr Kaki Matenga, spent the weekend with his daughter, Mrs Himona, Masterton. Mr W. Watson has returned from the South Island. Mr and Mrs Peara will shortly leave to take up their residence in Wairoa.
