ALL DAMAGED

GERMAN BATTLECRUISERS &, PRINCE EUGEN

PROOF IN PHOTOGRAPHS.

NEED OF EXTENSIVE REPAIRS

LONDON, May 3. The German warships Scharnhorst, Gneisenau and Prince Eugen are all seriously damaged. This knowledge has been confirmed by photographs taken by R.A.F. re-

connaissance planes. The warships have been located in different ports, the Scharnhorst at Kiel, the Gneisenau at Gdynia in Poland and the Prince Eugen at Trondheim.

A statement by (he Admiralty. and Air Ministry says the Gneisenau is severely damaged along the whole length of the forecastle. The Scharnhorst is still in dockyard hands and the after part of the Prince Eugen needs very considerable repairs. Both the Scharnhorst and Gneisenau have been out of action for thirteen months and the Prince Eugen has not been at sea for nearly a year.
