FIGHTING IN HONAN

ENCIRCLEMENT OF. ENEMY FORCE. REPORTED BY CHINESE. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copvright) NEW YORK, May 2. According to the Chungking radio, the Chinese have succeeded in encircling the main body of Japanese invasion forces which have been moving in Honan/Province north of Shenyangtai. Other Japanese units near Ningkang and Hsiangchi wore forced to retreat southward. The Chinese have destroyed highways and bridges near Hsinyang, thus cutting off the invaders’ retreat.
