VICE-ADMIRAL GHORMLEY’S COMMAND. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, April 30. It is reported from Washington that the Senate has confirmed the appointment of Rear-Admiral Robert Ghormley as temporary viceadmiral of the United States Navy in charge of the South Pacific Area Command, which extends round New Zealand. The New Zealand Minister in Washington, Mr Nash, had a long conference with President Roosevelt at the White Biouse today.
