When the “Muenchener Neueste Nachrichten” published an article according to which every German family must be proud to sacrifice a member of its family to win the final victory, the so-called Czech “gallows humour” made the most of this announcement. “ ‘Every family’ means that' even the Schickelgruber family will have to sacrifice one member,” said the Czechs, grinning but not mentioning the fact that Adolf Hitler is the only member of that family.
