EKETAHUNA

HOUSEHOLDERS’ MEETING GROUND IMPROVEMENTS REQUESTED. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a fair attendance of householders at Eketahuna this week, ever which Mr Greathead presided. A resolution was carried that this meeting of householders views with regret that the sustained efforts of the committee in asking the board to effect urgent ground improvements at both the primary and secondary departments which have so long been delayed.

A circular letter from two board members regarding the Navy League was: read and it was unanimously decided to support the resolution extending the hours in which the League may address the primary children for at least two hours during the year. A resolution of appreciation was accorded to Mr S. Turley, the retiring cleaner, for the very capable manner in which he had carried out his duties.

The committee appreciated the manner in which the Rev. I. K. Hopper and his assistants have conducted the Bible in Schools Service since its inception. The secretary was complimented for the report he placed before the meeting. Votes of thanks were accorded to the staff, to the Press, and the general public for the support accorded.
