POPPY DAY APPEAL.

JJPART Horn its association with the observance ot‘ Anzae Day, the annual Poppy Day appeal, to be made by the Wairarapa R.S.A. on Friday next, is a means of raising funds with which to give assistance that is needed urgently at times by returned men of the last war and members of their families. That the need for this assistance still exists is demonstrated in the fact that the Wairarapa R.S.A. last year spent £330 from its Poppy Day funds in relief given to returned men. in this district. No one will doubt that the money spent in this way is expended wisely and with sympathy. It may be supposed that as in the past there will be a very general readiness on the part of all to give their mite in this good cause and that Poppies offered in Masterton and elsewhere in the Wairarapa will find a ready sale.
