AIR FORCE BAND
VISIT TO MASTERTON DURING WEEKEND TWO PERFORMANCES TOMORROW PATRIOTIC FUND APPEAL. Much interest is being taken in the visit to Masterton of the Band of the Royal New Zealand Air Force, in order 'to assist the 1942 Patriotic Fund Appeal. This afternoon the band was participating in the Military Tattoo held at the Solway Showgrounds, where the Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones, was taking the salute. Tomorrow the band will make two public appearances. It will play in the Park Oval at 2 o’clock tomorrow afternoon. The charge for. admission to the Park will be Is and children 6d. In the evening the band will present a concert in the Regent Theatre, commencing at 8 o’clock. An excellent programme has been arranged for tomorrow night. Besides a. number of well-selected band items, there will be a cornet duo, violin, xylophone and claranet solos, a novelty item and other interludes of wide appeal. The band will be under the conductorship of Flight Lieutenant H. Gladstone Hill.
