A Bill authorising the construction of an additional 200,000 tons of submarines, costing 900 million dollars, was unanimously passed by the House of Representatives and sent to the Senate. WOMEN’S AUXILIARY FOR THE AMERICAN NAVY. RELEASING MEN FOR SEAGOING SERVICE. , (Received This Day, 11.45 a.m.) WASHINGTON, April 16. The House of Representatives unanimously passed a measure to create a Women’s Auxiliary Naval Reserve. This is designed to release thousands of men for active seagoing service. The Bill now goes to the Senate. SMALL NAVAL CRAFT SUNK AT CORREGIDOR. ALL MEMBERS OF CREW SAVED. (Received This Day, 11.45 a.m.) WASHNIGTON, April 16. A Navy communique states: “The United States mine-sweeper Finch was sunk during enemy bombing attacks on Corregidor in the last few days. There were no casualties among the personnel.
