SCHOOL COMMITTEES
NO ELECTIONS NECESSARY IN MASTERTON ALL CHAIRMEN RETIRING. NOMINATIONS CLOSE YESTERDAY No elections are necessary for the three principal Masterton schools, as only the required number of committee members have been nominated in each case. By a strange coincidence the retiring , chairmen- of each committee are not seeking re-election for’ various reasons. Nominations for the larger schools closed yesterday. The new committees are: CENTRAL. Messrs W. R. Nicol, A. V. Dixon, P. H. Shaw, A. I. Gibbs, G. Masters, A. E. Nelson, G. Bilderbeck, T. A. Russell and W. L. Butler. The retiring chairman, Mr J. E. MeV. Calwell is not seeking re-election on account of family reasons. Messrs C. Braggins and J. H. Cole are also retiring from the committee. The new members are Messrs Masters, Bilderbeck and Russell. WEST. Messrs H. P. Dugdale, H. G. Scott, W. J. Campbell,' R. S. Graham, W. C. Baity, S. C. Haybittie, A. S. Graham, T. L. Wright, W. G. Baird. Three of the retiring members, Messrs E. R. Rogers (chairman), F. Shearer and E. Tooby are not seeking reelection, Mr Rogers’s retirement being on account of pressure of work. The new members are Messrs Dugdale, Scott and Wright. LANSDOWNE. Messrs R. Baker, J. G. Dagg, J. R. Donovan, A. V. Faulknor, C. H. Jarvis, C. K. Long, J. McGregor, J. G. Mackay, and E. H. Peters Mr J. G. McFarlane, chairman of the retiring committee, is not seeking reelection, as he is no longer residing in the school district. Mr Peters is the only new member on the committee. The bi-ennial meetings of householders will be held next Monday night.
