RUBBER SALVAGE
URGENT ACTION IN CANADA. NEEDED TO MAINTAIN ARMY SUPPLIES. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 10.5 a.m.) OTTAWA, April 13. Mr Alan Williamson, Controller of Supplies, said today that every ounce of scrap rubber must be collected within a few months, otherwise Canada’s armed forces would be faced with a serious lack of supplies. In response to his appeal, thousands of pounds of old door-mats, tires and other rubber articles are pouring into the salvage depots.
