DIPLOMATIC STATUS
CANADIAN PROPOSAL. MAY SEND AMBASSADOR TO WASHINGTON. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) OTTAWA, April 8. The Canadian Press Agency says the Government is contemplating raising the status of the Canadian Legation in Washington to that of an Embassy. It added that the prospective Ambassador would be a member of Cabinet, and hinted that the Defence Minister, Mr Ralston, was regarded as the “most deserving for such promotion.”
