The death occurred at Johnsonville recently of Mr Claude Bertram Redward, formerly deputy general manager of the State Fire Insurance Department. The death has occurred of Mr John Hart, aged 73, Maraetotara, from injuries received in a motor accident in Havelock North on .March 28. He was formerly a well known racehorse owner. The following Air Force trainees on educational courses passed the Air Force Preliminary Examinations held on March 16 and 17:—I. C. Bennington (Masterton), L. A. Patchett (Tiraumea), R. P. Perry (Longbush), and M. H. Theed. At the annual meeting of the Wairarapa Ladies’ Hockey Association last evening, the president extended a welcome to Mr A. Innes, until lately well known in sporting circles, particularly boxing and hockey, in Blenheim. Mr Innes is now attached to the Masterton branch of Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd.
