CROQUET
PARK CLUB SEASON CLOSED YESTERDAY. WINNERS OF COMPETITIONS. The Park Croquet Club brought the season to a close yesterday and in spite of the showery weather the games and competitions were got off quickly. The following are the results: Half-hour croquet, A grade; .Mrs Weller 1, Mrs Bassett 2; B grade, Mrs Kingdon 1 Mrs Dunderdale 2; C grade, Mrs McMaster 1, Mrs Taylor 2. Roquet to peg, Mrs Wilson Thompson, Hitting peg from corner, Mrs Barlow. Taking off, Mrs I. I. McGregor, At the tea adjournment Mrs McGregor (acting president) was presented with a bouquet from the members as a token of esteem.. The bouquet was the artistic work of Mrs Scrivener. After tea the various club cups were presented Mrs McGregor asked the secretary, Mrs Polson, to accept a gift from members. The following are 'the names of the winners and runners-up of club cups: A Mrs Polson, runner-up Mrs Donnelly; B, Mrs Scrivener, runner-up Mrs Penistone; C, Mrs Kennedy, runner-up Mrs Taylor. In a handicap competition for a trophy donated by Mrs Wakely, of Featherston, Mrs Taylor was the winner and Mrs Barlow runner-up.
