GUERILLA UNITS
DEFENCE OF CANADIAN PACIFIC COAST. VOLUNTEER ORGANISATION. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) (Received This Day. 10.30 a.m.) OTTAWA, April 8. The Defence Minister. Mr Ralston, told the Press that small guerilla formations, eventually to total 150 units, were being organised along the Pacific Coast. Mr Ralston said a battle training school, to give training in guerilla and commando warfare, was being established by the Defence Department. The guerilla groups would be called militia rangers. They will not wear uniforms, but arm bands. They will largely use their own firearms and will not draw pay.
