BOWLING

MASTERTON CLUB SEASON TO CLOSE ON SATURDAY. TOURNAMENT TO BE HELD. (By “THE BOWLER.”) After one of the most successful seasons, the Masterton Bowling Club has enjoyed, the final games will be played on Saturday next, when the bowling season' will be omCl lt' y has been arranged that the closing games shall take the form of a nnK tourney, the names being drawn out ol tne “Box ” as is customary on Saturday afternoons. A small entry fee will be collected. The teams will be chosen from those players whose names are in the “Box" by 1.15 p.m. The closing of the season will not be such a happy event as the opening day, especially for those who arc unable to take up the usual outdoor winter pastimes. I feel sure that all bowlers will look back on the season just closing with many happy memories. , , . The president, Mr H. H. Daniell, and his committee may rest assured that the bowlers appreciate very much the excellent worK they have done to make the Masterton Club one of the most popular clubs in the Domin’°l also know that the greens have been in excellent order, and I think with the other bowlers that the executive is to be congratulated on having accepted the services of Mr Horton. The conditions laid down by Mr Horton were closely adhered to and faithfully carried out by the club’s caretaker, Mr W. Bishop.
