The leading roles are in the hands of Dick Powell and Ann Dvorak‘while Paul Whiteman’s Band will be heard at their best. In “The Man at the Gate” there are scenes in which outstanding acting is witnessed as was to be expected when the chief character is portrayed by Wilfrid Lawson, the “Doolittle” of “Pygmalion.”
