OF ENEMY AIRCRAFT IN LIBYA BRITISH FIGHTERS SHOOT DOWN 300th VICTIM. SINCE LAST NOVEMBER. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) LONDON, April 6. British fighter squadrons in the Western Desert have destroyed their 300th enemy aircraft since November 18, 1941, the opening day of the second Libyan campaign. An Air Ministry communique states that an additional 100 enemy planes were probably destroyed in the same period and more than 200 damaged.. In Cyrenaica our fighter aircraft shot down a German bomber and a twinengined enemy plane was destroyed on the ground. On Saturday night our bombers attacked shipping in Benghazi harbour and enemy aerodromes at Barce and Martuba. There is no news whether the enemy air offensive against Malta was continued today, but yesterday three bombers were shot down. Six of our planes are missing in Middle East operations. One pilot is safe.

A Middle East army communique states that fighting patrols were active during Saturday night and yesterday.
