INDOOR BASKETBALL
♦ LOCAL ASSOCIATION. PRACTISE GAMES LAST NIGHT. Twelve practise games were played in the Town Hall last evening and for so early in the season several good contests were witnessed. This season's championship games will commence next Wednesday, and the teams are reminded that they must play in properly numbered uniforms. The following are the results of last night’s games:—Ladies’ section: McKenzies 18, Cathies 14: W.F.C.A. B 6, Cathies B 2; Codys 22, C. Smiths 6; State Kitchenette A 12, Rangers A 11; Post and Telegraph 6, Banks 2; Sparklets 12, State Kitchenette B 6; Garages 18, Woolwortss 6; McDuffs 6, United 6; State Kitchenette C 8, Rangers 3; Lancers 4, W.F.C.A. 4 Men’s division: Interhouse 12 sth A.S.C. 2; Solway 10, sth A.S.C. 0; Interhouse 10, Ruahine 10. The referees were Misses F. Bellis, A. Burgess, P. Hanley, J. Gemmell and Messrs T. Harrington. D. Minifie, B. McHattie, D. Cosstello, A. Read; time keepers and scorers, G. Davis and J. Henderson.
