MAURICEVILLE

OBITUARY MR A. C. JACOBSEN. (“Times-Age” Special.) A well known and highly respected resident of Mauriceville, Mr Andrew Christian Jacobsen, died in the Masterton Hospital at an early hour this morning. Born in Denmark 75 years ago, the late Mr Jacobsen came to New Zealand with his parents. At the age of nine years he assisted his parents to cut the bush where the settlement of Mauriceville now stands. His parents were the first Danish settlers in the district. He had laterly been employed by the Mauriceville lime works. The late Mr Jacobsen is survived by a widow and four daughters. 1 The funeral will leave the late residence on Saturday following a service at 2 p.m. for the Mauriceville West Cemetery.
