STILL MISSING

QANTAS FLYING-BOAT. TWENTY PERSONS ON BOARD. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) SYDNEY, April 1. No trace has been found of the Qantas Empire Airways flying-boat Circe, which has been overdue since February 28. The Circe, with a crew of four and sixteen passengers, was last reported by wireless when 150 miles from Tjilatjap, bound for Australia. At that time there were cyclonic disturbances south of Java as well as much Japanese air and naval activity. The first officer of the plane, Flying Officer M. V. Bateman, came from New Zealand in 1938.
