Gordon Lee, state: — “The campaign for Bonds for Bombers closes today but to enable those who for various reasons have been unable so far to take their part in the purchase of bonds, the organisers have arranged that the Postmaster at Masterton will receive by telephone this evening between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. promises to purchase bonds. We understand that an additional £2500 worth of bonds will ensure that this district has contributed two bombers to our fighting strength. We accordingly commend this objective to the resources of this beautiful district and in order to make a fitting climax to the effort we would urge purchasers to present their bonds to the local Patriotic Committee to augment the funds for the sick, the wounded, the prisoners and the fighters. There is urgent and increasing need of these funds and the public may rest assured that they will be well spent. The telephone number is 1600 Masterton.”
