STATE THEATRE
“CHARLIE’S BIG HEARTED AUNT.” “Charlie’s Big Hearted Aunt” will be the big feature of tonight’s programme. It is a modern version of the late Frank Thornton’s great worldwide success, “Charlie's Aunt.” This picture when shown in other parts of New Zealand on its initial presentation drew crowded houses and provided one of the most entertaining films ever presented to patrons. It is clean comedy of a very high standard and there is a quick succession of humorous scenes. Each artist in. the picture has a part suited to his or her particular ability, and each makes the most of. the situations presented. Arthur Askey has the leading role. There will be no pictures on Good Friday but a special session will be held on Thursday night commencing at 10.30 o'clock at which “Great Guns” (a Laurel and Hardy picture) will be shown.
