SALE AT ADDINGTON STORE SHEEP VALUES FIRM. BEEF PRICES DECLINE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. March 31. At the Addington market there were decreased entries in most classes. There was a firm sale of store sheep, values being maintained, but beef prices declined slightly. The store lambs market was very firm, specially for better class ewe lambs, which made up to 245. Others, smaller and less forward, made from 18s 6d to 21s 6d. Rape lambs were in keen demand up to 19s 6d, medium to good 16s 6d to 18s. small and backward 15s to 16s 3d. The bulk of the offering brought over 17s, and only a few pens of culls failed to reach Ils or 12s. For store sheep there was a keen sale throughout, except for the last few pens. Two-tooth Romney cross ewes made up to 38s. best halfbreds to 335, others from 27s to 30s 6d. Other two-tooths ranged from 14s to 18s 6d, and medium 20s to 235. In fat cattle there was a further easing of value all round of 10s to 15s a head. Extra good beef made to 41s per 1001 b, good 37s to 395, medium 34s 6d to 365, ordinary to 33s 6d. Top price was £l9 7s 6d for a prime steer. Porker competition was fair throughout. Heavyweight porkers eased from 2s to 3s a head, and values in the chopper section were i easier by about £1 a head.
